Swimming & Diving sends 4 to world championships

CHAPEL HILL — A foursome of College of North Carolina swimmers and divers Alex Rigide, Lilly Higgs, Patrick Hussey and Olivia Nel will signify their respective international locations on the 2022 FINA World Aquatics Championships, which start Saturday, June 18 and Sunday , ending July 3, in Hauptstadt von Ungarn, Hungary.

Rigide will signify his native Austria in present leaping, whereas Higgs will signify the Bahamas, Hussey for Workforce Canada and Nel for South Africa within the pool. This would be the first FINA World Championships assembly for Rigide, Hussey and Nel, whereas Higgs is attending their second.

Higgs certified for the 50 and 100m breaststroke, Hussey will compete within the 200m butterfly and 400m freestyle, whereas Nel will compete within the 50m and 100m backstroke. Rigide will compete within the three meter diving competitions.
